Ashghal appoints KEO as consultant on major roads and drainage works

In their quest to deliver ever increasing infrastructure deliveries in the next 4 years, Qatar’s Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ recently appointed KEO to be the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) on the Local Roads and Drainage Program (LR&DP) for New Consultancy Supervision Services (Contract 6). This is one of three separate mega-contracts that in total, cover the whole of Qatar. Under the terms of the award, KEO will provide a range of services including contract management, administration, construction supervision, quantity surveying, project close out and maintenance period duties on this extensive project. The award is sourced under a coordinated framework agreement between KEO and Ashghal’s Road Services Department, and will last until 2024.

In keeping with Qatar’s goal of both futureproofing cities and providing towns and villages with a greater level of connectivity, the program will enhance existing infrastructure while providing new facilities to areas that are currently underserved, allowing for continued development and urban expansion.

Adhering to the Qatar National Vision 2030, the authority contributes to the economic and social development of the State of Qatar, with projects serving ports, logistics and industrial areas as well as communities in local areas. The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' was established in 2004 to be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, construction, delivery, and asset management of all infrastructure projects and public buildings in Qatar. KEO has been successfully helping Qatar deliver on mega-projects for over 3 decades, and has been instrumental in projects such as Hamad International Airport, 3 FIFA compliant stadiums, Education City, Sidra Hospital, and the delivery of Al Khor Expressway projects and other major infrastructure projects.
