KEO signs contract for A/E services for New Capital Markets Authority Headquarters in Kuwait

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) recently announced the signing of a contract for the implementation of the study and design work for the construction of a new Headquarters Building for the Capital Markets Authority. Chairman of the Board of Commissioners - Managing Director, Professor Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Melhem confirmed that the Authority has engaged the services of KEO International Consultants (KEO) in collaboration with the international office of KPF, who specialize in international building projects.


The contract was signed in a ceremony on March 20th by Professor Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Melhem, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners – Managing Director, CMA and Dr. Abdul Aziz Sultan, Chairman, KEO, appointing KEO as the lead Architecture and Engineering firm to provide full architectural and engineering design services. Al-Melhem added that the new headquarters will have a total area of ​​69,000 square meters and that the project design period will take approximately 16 months. It will be located in the heart of the capital, next to the KIA Headquarters Building and the Central Bank of Kuwait.


The Chairman of the Steering Committee to oversee the design and construction of the Permanent Capital Markets Authority Building, Mr. Wael Mahmoud Bahbahani, stated that a competition was launched between Kuwait engineering offices in April 2018. The Authority conducted an architectural competition between the qualified local engineering offices and stipulated that they should team with one of six shortlisted international offices specified in the competition. KEO / KPF won first place in that architectural competition.


Mr. Bahbahani stressed that the Authority is keen to implement the project during the planned time period, taking into account the quality in the implementation according to specifications and approved engineering plans.
